March 25th – April 1st

Virgil Abloh, the creator of fashion label ‘Off-white’, was named the head of Louis Vuitton menswear. This combination impacts more than just the fashion world, seeing as Abloh’s stylistic aesthetic integrates a lot of street-style, and street wear. This addition to the Louis Vuitton team is extremely exciting, and many cannot wait to see what new styles Abloh will bring to the table.

This week Netflix debuted their new show ‘Rapture’, which Netflix describes as: “Vibrant documentary series that captures hip-hop’s impact on global culture”. The artists on season one are: Logic, Nas, Dave East, T.I., G-Eazy, 2 Chainz, Just Blaze, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and Rapsody.

Cardi B – ‘Be Careful’

Cardi B dropped this track at midnight on March 30th, and it’s already taking over charts everywhere. Cardi B will be releasing her album “Invasion of Privacy” on April 6th, and ‘Be Careful’ was just a teaser.

‘Be Careful’ has some pretty intense lyrics that could be pointed at a few different people, one, her haters who told her she would amount to nothing, and also maybe her fiancé, Offset. Whatever the issue is, we’re here for it.

Rich The Kid – “The World Is Yours”

Rich The Kid finally released his debut studio album, and the track sheet is quite impressive. Pre-released tracks from the album, ‘New Freezer’, and ‘Plug Talk’, gained Rich the Kid a decent amount of notoriety, and allowed for his debut album to be highly anticipated. “The World Is Yours” covers a wide range of sounds, and includes features from fellow Atlanta rappers, Offset, Quavo, Future, as well as Tripe Redd, Lil Wayne, Khalid, Rick Ross, and Chris Brown. This album is currently in the top 10 albums on iTunes.

The Weeknd – My Dear Melancholy,

The Weeknd has been teasing new music, and posted a photo on his instagram stating his ‘indifference’ towards doing a surprise release.

This new EP, “My Dear Melancholy,” took over the charts upon release, placing itself at number 1 album on iTunes. The album’s first track ‘Call Out My Name’ replaced Drake’s ‘God’s Plan’ as number 1 on the Spotify top 50 in the United States. This new EP is reminiscent of the original dark, and deep R&B sounds consistent through The Weeknd’s older albums, such as “Beauty Behind The Madness”, and “Trilogy”. It’s pretty clear who these songs are pointed at, seeing as The Weeknd and Selena Gomez just publicly split, and she resumed her on again off again relationship with Justin Bieber.

A$AP Rocky & BlocBoy JB – ‘Bad Company’

If you’re like me, and haven’t been living under a rock, then you’ve been patiently waiting for A$AP Rocky to release his heavily teased new music project. This week on Instagram, Rocky released a single with BlocBoy JB to soundcloud, which is now available on every main streaming service. Hopefully an album/project will come soon.

SainT JHN – “Collection One”

Up and coming artist SainT JHN has finally released his debut studio album. This album features pre-released hits ‘Roses’, and ‘I Heard You Got Too Litt Last Night’.

Tyler, The Creator – ‘Okra’

Okra seems like a return to the pre-flower boy Tyler, the creator sound. We’re talking bass heavy, beat slapping, kill em’ all, Tyler, the creator.
